Comments and Complaints

Your care, comfort and satisfaction are important in Bowral and the Area Health Service.Making a complaint will not affect your right to quality service and may help us to improve the services provided.If you have any questions or are concerned about your treatment in hospital or in the community, you are encouraged to:Option 1:Discuss your concerns with the nurse, doctor, or other health professional involved in your treatment. They may be able to resolve your issues immediately or they can refer you to a more senior member of staff. If you do not wish to take this option, then the following alternatives are available:Option 2:Contact the hospital or health facility's Patient Liaison Officer (PLO). The Patient Liaison Officer or a delegate who is independent of the ward or facility will investigate your issues and provide you with the result of this investigation. The PLO for the local Mental Health Service is able to be contacted through: 9616 4204.Option 3: If you are not happy with this outcome, you may contact:(1) Area Complaints Officer, Clinical Governance Unit: 9828 5958 (monday-friday 9-5pm)Or you may put your concern in writing to:(2) Chief Executive: Sydney South West Area Health Service, Locked Mail Bag 7017, Liverpool BC, 1871.Option 4:The Health Care Complaints Commission is an independent body that receives and assesses complaints about health care practitioners and health care services.Contact the Health Care Complaints Commission: level 13, 323 Castlereagh Street, Sydney, NSW, 2000.
